In other words, you really have to grow to match your opponent's firepower. ![]() Once you enhance your stats a lot and equip a powerful weapon, it makes tearing through the robot army rather rewarding, especially considering how they strengthen over time via new tough machines and a higher number of adversaries to dispatch. These cards can increase your base stats, provide allies, grant a new weapon, give additional skills that you can use once each, and there are even chance cards and such to keep you on your toes. ![]() So, what do you do with the bit of money that you earn? Well, you use it to purchase 1 card from a selection of 3 before each day starts. It made me wonder is the country that I'm protecting even worth saving or should I join whatever nation those robots belong to? □ You keep watching government propaganda, I'll take a shower Treat yourself On top of that, new taxes regularly get introduced to ensure that your remaining pay remains scant. Between stages, you'll earn a paycheque but you're heavily taxed so you barely make any money. One of the funniest parts about Marfusha is its ridiculous tax system. However, as the campaign progressed, I began to dig the gameplay loop as a lot of it is actually satirical and the sense of humour complements the gameplay wonderfully so I'm glad that I stuck it out for a bit. When I started playing it, I thought that it was kind of lame as all you do is shoot robots while occasionally aiming the right stick if any happen to be airborne. Marfusha takes place in a dystopian future where you play as the titular girl who's tasked with fending off invading robots from penetrating the city's wall. □ Just another day's work shooting dozens of robots Work hard │ Our reviewers are discouraged from reading other reviews before writing theirs in order to avoid contributing to an echo chamber. Some games get increasingly fun the more you play them so I'm glad that I gave Marfusha a chance let's see what makes it so special. Marfusha is also available for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch
